Shots from the set of Gilroy

Here are a few frame grabs from our cartoon. I'll be posting a couple of these every week for the next couple of weeks. A big thanks goes out to everyone involved: Jackie, Dave Brain, Millet, Dave Lee, RD, Chris, Roger, Ilya, the crew at Hacienda, Shaun, Megan and my two co-creators Shane and Andy. All of the people mentioned as well as many more helped make this look better than we could have on our own.

If you want to see a couple more images, check Shane's blog out!

Roosevelt answering the phone was my favorite part of the pilot. I also liked other things. I felt that the show was very "kid-centric" and that you 3 creators "thought outside the box" and challenged my notion of what a garlic alien could be. In summery it is all very good and entertaining. Kudos.

p.s. please send me a maquette of Roosevelt and also packaged action figures of Halicron and the chocolate milk kid, and a 12-inch Phelps figure. Also I want an "art of book." Please sign the book before you send it and have the other creators sign it as well.

p.s.s. Please do a drawing of the girl, (Jenny?) eating the booger. I will also appreciate this scene as an outake in the DVD release.

Thanks so much for the support! We'll see what happens from here. The biggest comment we've gotten from people who've seen it is:

"Man we wish the whole thing was animated."

Originally, it was supposed to be (at most) an 11 minute short. Well, we started boarding and once we cut it together, it was right around 22 minutes. Cartoon Network really liked the animatic once they saw it, but it exceeded what they had originally budgeted for the short. So, we only got to finish half.

But hey, half is better than nothin'... I guess...

Again, none of it would have been possible without all of the amazing people who worked on it. There are a lot of people that made Shane, Andy and I look really good.
