Searle assignment

As mentioned before, all the character designers at work have been teaching a workshop at the studio. For the final assignment we wanted to give the class a more real world assignment. We asked them to imagine that Dreamworks was developing three new properties (Flash Gordon, Conan or Three Musketeers) and that the fictional director wanted the property to be styled after Ronald Searle.

As with all the assignments, the instructors participate as well. Here's mine.

HA-- I like how in the top one you can see both the 40's and the 80's versions on Flash.
...But the 40's version wins every time! Awesome Ming!

Where's the Searle-styled Hawkmen??? You blew it, man.

Hey Shannon,
These are superb! I was just talking with some guys at work how, of all the remakes being made, why is nobody making Flash?? We all nominated Daniel Day-Lewis as Ming. And of course, you've got to bring back the Queen theme. Good stuff man!

Shannon,

Roy Foster here from Saint Xavier.

I was recently in Indianapolis and passed Keystone at the Crossing. Do you remember taking a day off of school to visit IU and then me driving us up to Indy so you could go to Keystone to buy a statuette?!

I am a dentist now, still in Louisville. Married a dentist too, Lisa. We have a 4 month old little boy.

Let me know you got this sometime.

Happy Thanksgiving!
